RECEIVING ETERNAL LIFE IS AS SIMPLE AS
A – B – C
First of all you need to,
ADMIT that…
God loves YOU. He loved you so much that He sent His very own Son to pay the price on the cross for your sin. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
Christ died for YOU and all people. “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8b)
Everyone sins. No exceptions! And “when people sin they fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
Sin separates YOU from God. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
BELIEVE that…
Jesus Christ is the ONLY answer and way to eternal life. Therefore place YOUR “faith” and “trust” in Him. The Bible says that believing that Jesus is God’s Son is the first step toward faith. “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” (Acts 16:31)
CONFESS…
To God that YOU are a sinner. Ask God to forgive you and allow you to live in eternity with Him. “Because is we truly confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
Do NOT just say YOU are sorry, truly repent and ask God to help YOU change YOUR ways. Ask God to help you stop doing what you shouldn’t do, turn from your sins and start doing what He wants you to do. “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” (Acts 3:19)
COMMIT…
To giving your life to Jesus Christ and ask Him to be Savior and Lord of your life – “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
Then…
Tell others about YOUR faith in Jesus. Share with others what Jesus has done for you and how He has changed your life. “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
Live in a way that pleases God. God wants us to follow His guidelines for living. By living a life pleasing to Him, this will be a testimony to your new life in Him. Jesus said: “If you love me, keep my commands.” (John 14:15)
Take the next step of obedience through “baptism. Jesus Himself, was baptized in the River Jordan by John the Baptist and He ask us that we follow His example. (Matthew 3:13-17)
Once YOU have been “baptized”, be sure to grow through fellowship and worship with other true believers. (Hebrews 10:23-25)
A STEP OF FAITH
F – A – I – T – H
Forgiveness – Everyone has sinned and needs God’s forgiveness. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
Available – God’s forgiveness is available to all. “God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
Impossible – According to the Bible, it is impossible to get to heaven on our own. “By grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift-not from works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Turn – If you were going down the road and someone asked you to turn, what would that person be asking you to do? (Change direction?) – Turn means repent.
Turn away from sin and self – “Unless you repent, you will all perish as well!” (Luke 13:3)
Turn to Jesus alone as your Savior and Lord – “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
Heaven – Is the place where we will live with God forever if we are willing to repent of our sins and confess Christ as our Lord and Savior. “If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also.” (John 14:3)

7-Day Devotional: New Life in Jesus
Day 4 – You Are God’s Child
Text: Romans 8:15 _“For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’”_
When you are born again, God does more than forgive you. He adopts you. Adoption means He takes you from the orphanage of sin and places you into His family forever. This is not based on your behavior. It is based on Christ’s work and God’s grace. Ephesians 1:5 says, “He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ.”
The Spirit of God gives you a new relationship with God. You are no longer a slave living in fear, trying to earn His love. You are a child who can call Him “Abba, Father.” “Abba” is an Aramaic word like a small child saying “Daddy.” It means close, personal, loving relationship.
This does not mean God will spoil your sin. A good father disciplines Hebrews 12:6. But discipline proves you are His child, not that you lost your place. John 1:12 says, “But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”
You do not have to beg God to love you. In Christ, you are already His child.
A chief adopts a poor orphan from the village. The child does not work to become part of the chief’s family. The chief’s word makes it so. Now the child eats at the chief’s table and bears the chief’s name. That is you with God the Father through Christ.
Reflection:
Do you live like a fearful slave trying to please God, or like a loved child resting in your Father’s care? What would change if you truly believed you are God’s child today?
Prayer:
“Heavenly Father, thank You for adopting me through Jesus Christ. Forgive me for living in fear like a slave. Teach me to cry ‘Abba, Father’ with confidence. Help me live as Your child who trusts, obeys, and rests in Your love. Amen.”
7-Day Devotional: New Life in Jesus
Day 3 – You Have Eternal Life
Text: John 10:28 _“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of My hand.”_
Reflection -
Eternal life is not something you earn after you die. Jesus said, “I give them eternal life” — present tense. The moment you repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, you pass from death to life. John 5:24 says, “Whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life.”
This life is “eternal” because it comes from the eternal Son of God. It does not depend on your performance. It depends on Christ’s finished work on the cross and His resurrection. Titus 3:5-7 says He saved us “by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit… so that being justified by His grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
Jesus also promised security: “no one will snatch them out of My hand.” Salvation by grace means God keeps you, not just you trying to hold on to God. Your faith may be weak, but Christ is strong. He holds you.
You do not have “a chance” at heaven. If you are in Christ, you have eternal life right now.
A child holds his father’s hand while crossing a busy road. The child may stumble, but the father’s grip is firm. The child is safe not because he holds tight, but because his father holds him. That is how Christ keeps you.
Question for reflection:
Do you rest in Christ’s promise of eternal life, or are you trying to earn God’s love by your works? What fear about your salvation do you need to bring to Jesus today?
Prayer:
“Lord Jesus, thank You for giving me eternal life as a free gift. Thank You that I am safe in Your hand. When I doubt, remind me that Your grip is stronger than my weakness. Keep me trusting You alone until You call me home. Amen.”
